You would be excused for assuming that Tom Cruise's business life is going swimmingly right now considering that he is nearing the end of shooting the most recent instalment of the Mission Impossible franchise.

However, it has been stated that the actor has been forced to employ security owing to the fact that a former co-worker has made threats of murder against him.

It has been reported that a disgruntled former production staffer on the film Mission Impossible 8 has declared that he intends to assassinate Tom Cruise, and the star is not taking any risks with this situation.

The unsavoury details of the incident, which also include director Chris McQuarrie, were reportedly disclosed by a person with close ties to the production, as reported by "The Sun."

Since the former worker was fired, he has engaged in a legal struggle, and it seems that the situation has deteriorated as a result.

"Tom and Chris are still working on 'Mission Impossible 8', mostly in the UK, but things have got increasingly unpleasant with a former crew member and now it's a case of taking no chances," said the Sun's source.

"It's a bit of art imitating life, on set it's all about heavy protection and threats and now the same thing is going on behind the cameras.

"Tom is used to having security teams around him most of the time because of his fame. But for Chris it's a very new thing. Nobody is taking any chances."

According to The Sun, the sacked employee has also made some shocking claims in which he provides specifics regarding an alleged funding of Tom Cruise's films by Russian billionaires.

In any event, production on Mission Impossible 8 is still continuing strong at this point.
