Requirements for Applying to Aviation schools in Ghana

Aviation schools in Ghana, have a specified requirement for persons who want to apply for any of the aviation schools in Ghana. Therefore, you need to meet these requirements to be able have admission.

The following are the qualifications:

• Ability to speak English Language (language used in teaching) and write.
• Pass WASSCE exams with more focus on English and Mathematics.
• Since there are areas with age limit, applicant must be of the appropriate age.
• Diploma, degree and Post Graduate diploma holders in other areas are given admission.
• Applicants who wants to further their education on the same area must meet the required pass.
• Applicants with IT, NVTI and DBS qualifications are given precedence.

The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority(GCAA) established Ghana Civil Aviation Academy (GATA) in the year 2008, as a place where quality and excellent knowledge on aviation is acquired. They seek to provide practicable aviation training in West Africa an beyond.

They provide students with training that is geared towards development of human capital. This is the main objective for both the aviation and transport sector in Ghana. The international school of Aviation has it root from Nigeria. The Tema Ghana Campus was established on Tuesday, 19th October, 1998 with over 150 students from the start. They have other campuses at Kumasi and Ho in Ghana. The school is affiliated the below listed schools:

How to apply

• Go to the official website of the school
• If admission is ongoing, there will be an icon for admission, click on the icon.
• The forms will be there but you need to download and print it, fill and submit it.
• You will be expected to fill personal and educational details such as full name, date of birth, sex, highest level of education to the lowest, indicating your grades.
• Aside these you are expected to state the aviation course you desire to study. You will also have to prove that you are a person with noble character by providing a police character report.
• You are also to attach all other important documents as requested and submit it to their admission office at Kumasi.
• Online applicants should scan the various documents and submit in softcopy. You will receive a phone call all an email, that is if you have qualified. Therefore, you need to enter this information correctly.
