1. What can you tell us about yourself?
- Keep your answer short between one to two minutes; don't wander.
- Do
not make reference to childhood experiences; just give brief information
of where you are from and where you intend to go.

your curriculum vitae summary as a starting base.

2. What idea do you have about our organisation?
- Prove
that you have done your background checks. Know what products or services
they offer, how large the organisation is, what their yearly revenue is,
what reputation it has within the industry and on the street. Have
knowledge about the company's history, image, goal, and values.
- Portray an informed interest
which paves way for the interviewer to throw more light on various aspects
of the company.
3. Why the interest in working for us?
- Never
mention what you want; begin talking about their needs and what you can
offer them.
- You
desire to be part of their company: identify its strengths.
- You
look forward to the challenge of solving their company problems.
- You
can make a great contribution to specific organisational goals and objectives.
4. What would you offer us? What can you offer us
that someone else can't?
- Mention
successful past experiences where you have helped an employer solve a
problem and link this to the job being offered.
- Remain positive and never be seen to rebuke other candidates.
5. Which areas of our position do you find the most attractive? Least attractive?
- Point
out three or more attractive factors and only one minor unattractive
factor. Areas to pick up on could include; office location, company
reputation, the opportunity to work with admired and respected colleagues,
training opportunities, just to mention a few.
6. Why hire you / Why should management hire you?
- Due
to the knowledge, experience, abilities, and technical know-how you
possess. Be very positive and poised in your reply, not ambiguous.
7. What do you seek in a job? / What do you look for in a job?
- A chance to use my skills, to perform and to be recognized.
- The
chance to nurture further skills; all through life we should be constantly
learning.
- Link
your answer to the job for which you are applying e.g. "I love a challenge and I am certain this role would offer me that."
8. What is your explanation of a ...? (the position for which you are being interviewed).
- Keep
it short; actions and results oriented.
9. How long would it take for you to make a meaningful contribution to our firm?
- Very
quickly after a little orientation and a brief period of adjustment.
- As
long as we both feel I'm contributing, achieving and growing.
