YouTube introduces 'YouTube Handles' feature for channels. |
YouTube is set to introduce the ‘handles’ feature for all channels on its network. The word ‘handles’ means the use of @ preceding, a channels username. And for example, @GhanaNewsOnlineTV. It made this known in a mail received by GhanaNews.hrforum.uk.
According to the online
video sharing company, the ‘handles’ will be unique to a channel and will be
how people mention that channel in the comments section, community posts, just
to mention a few.
It will also make it easier
for members of the YouTube community to locate and network, with each other.
“We're
writing to let you know that over the coming weeks YouTube will be introducing
handles to make it easier for members of the community to find and connect with
each other.
“Your
handle will be unique to your channel and will be how people mention you in comments, community posts, and more,” the statement added.
The ‘handles’ feature is set to roll out in the coming weeks. And beginning, November 14, 2022, according to YouTube, if one hasn’t
selected a 'handle' for their channel, as at that time, YouTube will automatically, assign the
channel a handle. The automatically assigned handle, can be changed in YouTube studio.
“We're
gradually rolling out the ability to choose a handle for all channels over the
coming weeks, and you will receive another email and a notification in YouTube
Studio when you're able to choose yours.
“Starting
on November 14, 2022, if you haven't yet selected a handle for your channel,
YouTube will automatically assign you a handle, which you can change in YouTube
Studio if you'd like.”
