New list of transport fares following GPRTU’s increment. |
Vehicle passengers in Ghana, woke up to learn that, the fares for public transport had been increased on Friday, 24 hours earlier than the agreed upon date of October 29 for the increase.
The Ghana Private Road
Transport Union (GPRTU) recently made the decision to raise the prices in
response to the difficult economic climate. This move is consistent with that
decision.
The cost of fuel has increased dramatically over the course of the previous several months, which
has caused drivers to get agitated and make promises to pass part of the expense onto customers.
New price lists have been
posted in visible locations at several bus terminals in Accra in order to make
passengers aware of the recently implemented fare adjustments.
The increment comes at a
time when a significant number of Ghanaians are already experiencing
the brunt of the challenges facing the nation.
Many people are pleading with
the government to swiftly take action in order to improve the current state of affairs so that they may experience some relief.
