Ghana is scheduled to make their fourth appearance at the
World Cup and will enter the 2022 tournament as the lowest-ranked team out of
the 32 countries that will be competing at the mundial.
At this point, Ghana holds the 61st spot in the global
rankings and the 11th spot in Africa. Since they were rated eighth in Africa
back in December 2021, they have not been able to break into the top 10 there
ever since that time.
In addition, the West African side have not been ranked among
the top five teams in Africa since the month of August 2018, when they were
ranked 4th in Africa and 45th in the world.
Ghana have struggled to for results in 2022, winning just
two of their 12 games, while also drawing 5 and losing 5 of their remaining 10 matches.
