Former President John Dramani Mahama has paid glowing tribute to late Queen Elizabeth II. According to him, the death of the Queen marked the end of an era as she was a great woman.

He further described her visits to Ghana in 1961 and 1999 as perfect examples of a diplomat and a woman who was the commonwealth. He made this known on his Facebook page seen by GhanaNews.hrforum.uk.

An era has come to an end. The world salutes a very great woman. She was the commonwealth; such a diplomat, who took it upon herself to bring diverse nations together. Her visits to Ghana in 1961 and 1999 are perfect examples.

Mr. Mahama spoke of the late Queen’s grace and dignity with her good sense of humour and clarity of thought on his last visit to Buckingham Palace in 2014.

I recall my visit to the Buckingham Palace in 2014 with my wife, Lordina, and our interaction. One is struck by her dignity and grace. She had a good sense of humour and clarity of thought.  Fare thee well, Queen Elizabeth.
