Portugal icon, Cristiano Ronaldo is widely considered as one
of the greatest players in the history of the sport, with the striker
creating/breaking numerous records during his career so far, while also winning
five Ballon d'Or awards.
Ronaldo was at it again during Manchester United's 3-2
win over Arsenal in the Premier League on Thursday, scoring a brace to
become the first player in history to score 800 top-level goals in football.
The 36-year-old's double on the night means that he now has
netted 801 goals in 1,097 games with 130 goals coming for United across two
spells, five for Sporting Lisbon, 450 for Real Madrid, 101 for Juventus and
115 for Portugal.
While there is no official database to establish football's
all-time top scorer, Ronaldo for his part tops the list at the highest level.
The Czech football association claim that the legendary, Josef Bican scored 821
goals in official matches, though elsewhere his tally is placed at 805 - but
those include reserve-team and non-official international goals.
