Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United with immediate effect according to a statement issued by the club and sighted by GhanaNews.hrforum.uk. Ronaldo, 37, leaves United by mutual consent with the club.  

Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.

The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future.

The statement further added that, all at Manchester United remain committed to the team’s progress under Erik Ten Hag, working collectively to achieve success on the pitch.

Ronaldo on his part, has since issued a statement on his twitter page, confirming his departure from the club. He explained that, the time was right for him to seek a new challenge.

“Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early.

“I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge.”

He finally wished the football club success for the rest of the season and years to come.

“I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future.”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester United, comes on the back of his explosive interview with Piers Morgan, some days earlier where he shared his unvarnished thoughts on everything, from Erik Ten Hag's disrespect, the Glazer's mismanagement of united as well as, the constant criticisms by former colleagues (Rooney & Gary Neville).

He also recounted how he was on the verge of joining Manchester City but was dissuaded by Sir Alex Ferguson.
