| Black Stars Meets President Akufo-Addo. |
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo
congratulated the "brave" Black Stars squad for qualifying for the
Qatar 2022 World Cup by defeating Ghana's arch-rivals, the Nigerian Super
Eagles.
The Eagles were unable to make it to Qatar on
Monday night, therefore the Black Stars shone in Abuja on their route to the
2022 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana and Nigeria tied 1-1 after Thomas Partey
scored the opening goal in the 10th minute.
Nigeria equalized 12 minutes later with a penalty
kick.
Ghana qualified ahead of Nigeria on the away goals rule after a goalless draw in Kumasi on Friday.
President Akufo-Addo summoned the team to the
Jubilee House on their return to Accra on Wednesday morning after leaving Abuja
a few hours after the qualifying.
